I have slowly up S.G. to 1.025 over the past few months by adding 50/50 RO/saltwater to ATO.

as this seems to be the norm on home reefs.

Update on the reef.  It’s been a while.

seeing as the tank is around 1 year mature, I have no longer been running carbon.

chamber one is marine pure biofilter media balls and filter floss, with in an Intank media basket.

chamber 2 is the heater, my ATO sensor and a bag of Purigen. 
chamber 3 is return pump sicci 0.5, thermal sensor and ATO line in.

Lighting is AI Prime HD.

Mesh top is Red Sea 24” x 24” kit (great quality).

and bought my own RODI system for quality control.

inhabitants are:

1 YWG

1 Fire fire fish

1 clown
1 skunk cleaner shrimp

3 blue leg hermits

1 emerald crab

4 trochus snails

4 nerite snails

2 ninja star snails

2 nasarius snails

 

maintenance routine and feeding:

- feed pellets once per day except Thursday, Thursday I feed a reef Roids and mysis shrimp mixture to corals and fish.

after pump is turned back on and rocks are turkey basted and power head and return outlets are lightly brushed.  Friday 20% water change and filter floss change, substrate is lightly vacuumed during water change.
