puppetmaster
I own a stock 6 gallon Fluval Edge tank and was wondering if I can change it to saltwater. I should also mention that i do not plan on putting any live coral in the tank and only wish to have fish and a cleaning crew. Would I need to make any modifications to the filter and heater etc? Thank you for taking the time to read and answer my question. Quote Link to comment
Natereef
If youre not planning on putting corals you dont really need to modify anything at all. Just use it as it is. Quote Link to comment

Clown79
It's not hard converting. Not sure what the filter is like on the edge but media upgrade is usually recommended. A good carbon and filter floss. Heater is fine. Adding a powerhead is a good idea. Without corals, light is fine. If you choose to do corals later, it will need upgrading. Are you doing liverock or dry rock? Any ideas on fish? puppetmaster
Most likely dry rock. I plan to stock the tank with a royal gramma and a watchman goby with a pistol shrimp. I am not sure what I should stock for the cleaning crew though. Quote Link to comment

Trochus, turbo, spiny star astrea are good for rocks and glass. I personally love hermits. I feel they constantly clean, especially uneaten food that the fish don't get to. I like scarlet hermits and blue legged. 2 Quote Link to comment
