DaveFason
This is something that has been in the works and I am finally in a position to document the growth of the NanoBox Red Sea 170. The goal of this thread is to show everyone that LEDs can and will grow any coral with proper care. This thread will be updated every second and last Friday of the month. I want this thread to be as transparent as possible and if you have ANY questions please ask. I want to help people and show that LED only tanks are just as good! Thrassian Atoll
So you only run your whites for a couple of hours in the evening? Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
Just remember you can't grow SPS under LED's! That rainbow chalice gets me every time, I'm in love 1 Quote Link to comment

You can see the Sunet monti, Setosa growth very easily. I will be posting photos of the Walt Disney and purple tip. I plan on getting a cap, Slimer and a couple others now that the tank is nice and mature. 1 Quote Link to comment

Thrassian Atoll
What fixtures do you have with mint on a separate channel? This is is all I have. This is a new nanobox Duo as well. I would rather see your coral progression with something that you built for customers, i.e. using these settings alone. Quote Link to comment

Just recently started to offer the Mint on its own channel. However you will loose the dedicated moonlight. The issue is this is still taboo by NOT having any white light and not widely accepted ( bleeding edge? ). You can mimic very close to my spectrum by evening the blue/cyan & violet with the royal ( 85% ). Keep the white where yours in now. Hope that helps! 1 Quote Link to comment

The 30% Mint ~= 30% White/Lime? Also, are you carbon dosing? I think that you are feeding a lot and still algae and cyano are under control. Quote Link to comment

I do have algae but I prefer to keep the tank much more "dirty" than most. As well I try to keep my hands out of the tank ( maybe once every three weeks my hands go in ). -Dave Quote Link to comment
