JUZZ
Well the time has come. I bit the bullet and purchased the new 35 gallon AIO drop off tank. It will be here in approximately 2 weeks. I am coming from a large tank, so I have not had an AIO tank since a JBJ 28HQI in 2008. Lighting: Which would you suggest? ATI 6 bulb T-5 -or- AI Hydra 26 x 2 (so I can make the drop off intensity brighter, unless the 52 has individual pod control) Power Heads? Not sure, it is 3/4" thick so Vortech is out of the picture unless I put an MP40 which will be overkill Controllability: Neptune Apex Automatic Water Changes: Apex Dos Top Off: Full Tunze Osmolator (I like the added safety this has in comparison to the nano) Reactors: Should I run Carbon and GFO or what would you suggest? Coming back into small tanks so I am not sure. Advice is appreciated. Skimmer: ???? Not sure at this moment. Suggestions are appreciated. Link to comment
JUZZ
I have decided to go with a 6 bulb T-5 dimmable fixture for this build. I know it is overkill but if I am going to build everything the "right" way I might as well get a powerhouse fixture. Link to comment
Bambi13
I would suggest looking at a nano box hybrid, Dave makes awesome lights. Link to comment
JUZZ
@ Bambi13 I do not know much about the nano box at all. Do you have a link? I am afraid to make the switch to just LED's as all my other tanks are t-5 or t-5 hybrid w/LED. Link to comment
Benny314
Check this thread out for info on the NanoBox hybrid. http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/357361-nano-box-hybrid-pricing-pictures-info/ Well worth a look. Link to comment
JUZZ
I looked on the website and did not see the hybrid for sale. Does the hybrid have dimmable capabilities? This could be an option as I have not purchased the light yet. Also are these ready to ship or what is the lead time? So many questions. Link to comment
Benny314
Drop Dave a message on here NanoBox has a sponsor forum too. Link to comment
JUZZ
Purchased some Euroquatic E5 blue pop last night. Not sure if I am going to use them but I found them in stock so picked me up a few to experiment with. I will be speaking with Dave from Nano Box to see why 75% of people use his products. I looked online and all I could say was 'Merica. It is always good to see someone offering a quality product. Link to comment
JUZZ
Well as the anticipation increases I will post a few pictures of the shallow reef most of the corals are coming from. I am going to pack this tank to the brim trying to fit most of my prize corals in this as I have to downsize majorly. I will also post a few corals for sale here in the classified sections. If anyone is local to Houston I am always down to trade for things I do not have. I like to keep it all in the hobby. Here are a few pictures of one of my current reef tanks.. WELL.................. Any help uploading pictures would be greatly appreciated. Link to comment
Benny314
Create a photobucket account. When you upload photos to photobucket you can crop and resize them (800px longest edge is generally best) and photobucket gives you 3 link codes. Copy the direct code and click on the image icon in the reply options in nano-reef. Paste the direct link code into the pop up box and you should find it adds the photo. Link to comment

JUZZ
Spoke with Dave about the Nanobox Hybrid module. Pictures were great. Now I have decisions to make. The Nanobox will cost me about $400 more but is a Hybrid fixture so I will have best of both worlds. If you have a nano box hybrid please chime in. Link to comment
JUZZ
Something fun arrived on the patio this weekend. But......I have not decided on my fixture yet and do not have a 24" fixture handy to try these out on. So the suspense will continue...... Link to comment
JUZZ
Thank god I didn't buy the APEX gold last week, that could have been a bummer. I am using the new apex for this project. I will have a DOS to control my automatic water changes every day. My question is, how do I wire my tunze auto top off with the automatic water changes? Since the water will drop twice a day when it changes 3/8ths of a gallon my ATO will automatically turn on. Do I need to power off the ATO before the water change happens? If I do this it runs into another dilemma that needs solved. The Tunze ATO automatically turns on the pump when it is plugged in. Any Thoughts? Link to comment
Matteo
Spoke with Dave about the Nanobox Hybrid module. Pictures were great. Now I have decisions to make. I don't have the "NanoBox" hybrid build but I do have a t5 fixture with the V3 arrays in it so you get the idea. My pictures are pretty close to how it looks in person this is where it starts http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/373084-matteos-college-living-room-piece/page-3 current FTS is on first page though Link to comment
JUZZ
I checked out your build Matteo, sweet set up. I know I am going to miss my sump. I decided to go with the ATI 6 bulb dimmable t5 fixture. When I am ready for the full blown hybrid I will have Dave retrofit it with 4 V3 arrays. I am stoked to get the ball rolling on this and can't wait for this tank to be ready. Link to comment
Matteo
I am stoked too! I really want an ATI 6 bulb 24in fixture. Link to comment
JUZZ
Not what you want to hear when you call to check up on your tank...........looks like Artfully Acrylic had a hold up on their CNC machine and it took over a week to get it fixed. Hoping to get this tank in the next week..............hope........... Link to comment
JUZZ
well......crickets. Still waiting on this tank. The innovative marine tanks already came out and I am still waiting here thumb in hand with no set ship date. Link to comment
JUZZ
It has been over a week since the last update, after a lot of back and forth my tank is set to ship on FRIDAY, June 24th. Thank the lord. I might have it wet and ready by July. Link to comment
GoingPostal
Did you get the standard black or go for one of the colors? I have the 17 gallon in red but in hindsight do kind of wish I had sprung for the 35 gallon! I do like a smaller setup but it's nice to have the extra space. Link to comment
