Cameron
Petco is a large chain of over 650 stores, many of which were originally other chains/stores that were bought out by Petco. Please don't judge us all by those few that can't get it together. Saltwater departments in Petco stores VARY GREATLY. I've seen some that are a disgrace and some that rival the fancy high priced independents. It all depends on the aquatic system the store has and whether or not the specialist knows what they're doing. Link to comment

cjm033
cameron from what i see your just tryign to push your store on people but petco is horrible and shouldnt even be in busniess. about 550 of those 650 stores i wouldnt even think of buying an animal in. i really dont feel like getting into this , but it pisses me off when people try to push things on other people. so please stop trying to sell your store to us. revance
I have to say... of the dozens of horror stories about petco on this site, this one has to be my favorite! The guy accidentally calls it PetSmart, he really meant petco... he corrected himself towards the end of the first page. http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/showthread...&threadid=31166 Link to comment
oldtimer
The Petco stores in my area do not carry live rock. They sell old school equipment to vulnerable customers. How can one be expected to set up a modern marine system without the key ingredient? The livestock may be fine at stores with knowledgeable employees, but many do not have such people. Petco should examine whether they should sell marine animals, tank raised or not. Link to comment
rock12
no i've been to this petco, and there actually pretty nice lookin! Not to mention my dad found out the day they get the new fish in so they realy didn't have a chance to get all messed up Link to comment
revance
They should follow in the footsteps of Petsmart... stop selling animals completely (with the exception of easy to keep freshwater fish). Leave livestock to those who know what they are doing and just sell equipment, food, etc. Link to comment
Cameron
Hold on meow, I wasn't trying to push my store. I didn't even say which one was mine. This thread asked about the quality of perculas from Petco. My point is that it varies from store to store. It would be incorrect to say that they are all good or they all suck. meow I've said enough, cola anyone? Link to comment
cjm033
damnit your lucky your a super troopers person lol. the way i saw it , it looked liek you were trying to make petco look better than it really is. Link to comment
vangvace
What's worse Petco for selling fish or the distributers from selling them to Petco to begin with? ORA does alot of good for the hobby IMO, but they're helping themselves by distributing to PETCO If petco was as big a problem as we see it. Then why don't the heads (like Shimek, Holmes-Farley, etc) throw in their two cents? Their word may be carried more than the likes of PETA or the occasional lawsuit Link to comment
