ReeferJohn
Welcome to the club! Thanks! Not sure what my focus with this tank will be. Limited with the stock light so I may go softies/zoas and some less than common inverts. Still not sure about fish either Link to comment

I got one in my fusion 10G and two in my 28g nanocube, and they are very annoying! They mess with your corals, dig up your sand, kill your shrimp, etc! Don't get a peppermint shrimp either! They can become coral munchers like the one I had. Zoas would be a good start for corals. Good luck. Link to comment

I've never seen two shrimp and a goby before. No problems with the trio I'm assuming? Harlequin shrimp are so cool looking but their feeding requirements may be a bit too much for me. Link to comment

The yellow watchman goby joined in the fun too. No problems after 6 months. Link to comment

Smithjm5
Sweet! I like the scape a lot too. I've had several clowns and never had any of them dig lol. Link to comment
reefernanoman
Peppermints are shitty, but clownfish? Lol where on earth did you get yours from? They act like they came from hell lol. My black and white clown, which is in my fusion 10G attacks my cleaner shrimp, digs, rubs against my corals. Then my female Maroon clownfish in my 28g killed my poor tuxedo sea urchin, digs like mad, throws any frag around before the glue settles, attacks my hand, and will kill any fish I put in there! Her male partner is calmer lol. Link to comment

Think I may rotate that bottom right rock out so it's longways. Not sure to do with the smaller pieces on the sand on the left yet. Maroons are insanely aggressive but ocellaris clowns shouldn't be that crazy I kept clarkii's at one point...talk about aggressive A-hole's haha Link to comment

Most aggresive fish I had was a bi color dotty back.. that thing was a tool Link to comment
jdog
Talk about digging,if you get a goby and a pistol you will have lots of digging. That's all the Pistol likes to do. Link to comment

That would be expected though. My clarkii's displaced about half the sand in my 20h haha. It would give you a little more room for coral placement if you rotated it out. That's exactly what I was thinking too. I leave for my last spring break ever this Friday so I'm gonna have to trust the tunze nano osmolator I'm getting tomorrow to keep the tank level stable. What is everyone's experience with that ATO? Link to comment

ReeferJohn
Got my osmolator in today, this thing is awesome! Random question for you all, I lost the filter wrench to my RO/DI system and two of the cartridges are on so tight to where I can't unscrew them myself. Any suggestions or DIY methods to open them? ReeferJohn
How much water do you all think I'll need in my reservoir for a full week away? Link to comment
ReeferJohn
So it looks like the LR I got from premium aquatics came with dino's which really sucks . I'm leaving for a week in about an hour or two. What should I do in the short time I have left? Should I leave the lights out all week? Shorten light cycle to 4 hrs a day? Any help is appreciated. Mike Savage
To get my cartridges off I had a buddy help me. We had all four of our hands on one canister and finally got it to move. For my reservoir I use: Reliance Products Aqua-Pak 2.5 Gallon Rigid Water Container. I got it from Amazon for $13 and it lasts me a couple weeks. Link to comment
ReeferJohn
Came back from vacation expecting the worst but everything was great. The tunze ATO worked flawlessly and all testing read at zero so my cycle is done and I added my CUC today. 6 Nerites, 3 hermits, and 1 huge nassarius snail. Cured LR is the way to go, cuts down on the cycle by a lot. I also noticed some other hitchhikers: a little brittle starfish, a couple bristle worms, and some small white snails. The Dino's went away with the shorter photoperiod and everything is going swimmingly now. Thinking about adding my first fish in the next week or two. Think I'm going with a goby shrimp pair. Also threw in some purigen. Wanted to pick up some chemipure at the LFS while getting my CUC but the lady working there says she swears by the stuff and thinks it's way better than chemipure so I went with it. Any experiences with this stuff? Link to comment
