wildbill79
I picked up the Ecoxotic One Touch LED Controller yesterday and I really like it. It doesn't quite give the functionality that I was looking for, but it is a great improvement over what I had. I was running a splitter and a manual dimmer. The dimmer controlled both the blues and the whites so there was no way to control them individually. I wish there was a way to run specific percentages on each channel, but I am using the dimmer that I had and hooked it to my whites so I can run them at about 75% while running the blues at 100%. It gives the option to fade the blues and shites to give a cloud cover effect, but I dount that I ever use that. The main reason that I wanted it was to have a set time schedule for the tank. This way my wife doesn't have to mess with it when I am out of town, because I travel quite a bit for work. All in all, it does what I want it to without some functionality that I was looking for. For $70, I am pleased. Link to comment

wildbill79
Hey man, sorry to hear about Grumps Thanks. Don't really know how it happened. love that firefish. i wish the different species of FF got along, i think they're all just the prettiest and i'd love to have another non-helfrichi in my tank. Seems like a pretty cool fish so far. It really is cool how it moves around the tank and uses the nooks and crannies. I noticed today that my clown nips at it when it gets too close. I think he is defending his territory. The FF seems like a very low-key, mild tempered fish. Hopefully it doesn't do anything dumb like Grumps. Link to comment

wildbill79
How's the D3200 working out for you? .... I think we are supposed to get macro lenses ...$$$$$$$$ I really like the camera, but I still have quite a bit to learn. I think that I am under equipped as far as lenses go. I really want a macro. Some people on here take some amazing pics. I have heard that macro tubes work well, but I want the real thing so I can dial in the settings for it. I need to get a tripod first. I think that would help with some of my photos. As you can probably tell, I like taking pictures though. Link to comment
wildbill79
Quick post: Just got back from Great American Beer Festival in Denver last night and I am wiped out. Not a lot going on. I picked up a few new zoa frags and I really need to do some cleaning(especially the back wall). Here a several photos from this afternoon: New Zoa 1(no ID). I went ahead and mounted it today. New Zoa 2(no ID). My oldest son, checking it out today. My hammer that I split when I took it off of it's plug. It hasn't been coming out and inflating at all. Looks some better this week. I have aiptasia coming back in a big way. It was definitely pissing my Tubbs off. I took care of this one. Random Zoa shot, Aiptasia on the right. Ricordia looking full today. Double photobomb! Birdsnest growth. Frag rack and top rock. My Chalice is bleached pretty bad and is basically the only thing that's not growing in my tank. I kind of feel bad for it. The Soprano has three new heads forming. I was only gone for 4 days. Pretty sweet! That's all folks! Link to comment

Needless to say, I am not very good at it. The colors come out really weird and would have no idea how to edit them. Here are a few. I'm on the look out for a cheap one I got them off of the Best Buy website. $12. The brand is eForCity. Cheap, but they work. They are metal and seem well made, fit perfectly and tight with no play. Now, I just need to learn how to dial them in. Link to comment

I have very little luck with the really small ones. Had a small colony of Celtics melt this week. Just got the eforcity tubes for my d3200. I cant figure them out. How are you getting past the electronics on the camera? When I put it on I get .... no lens attached Edit- nevermind. Figured it out. Manual mode, duh Everything has to be done in manual. I always shoot in manual, but light and metering are tough with these. They work but you have to work with length and focus. I have to give a shoutout to my LFS. The Setosa that I bought last week that started to lose flesh, completely RTN'd by the next morning. Completely white skeleton. I went to get water and a couple of frags today and I was talking with one of the guys about it. He gave me another Setosa without even flinching. Love it and that is why I only go there. Bio-Reef kicks ass! Link to comment

Bio-Reef kicks ass! My Pink Setosa did somethiing similat, tissue got rough looking and eventually lost it. Water levels were on point, no large swings, and all my other SPS did just fine( even my Acros were growing well). For some reason, I lost it. Got another piece and it did just fine, I attribute it to the position in the tank, guess Ill never know for sure. Love the tank man! Link to comment

wildbill79
Trying to post pics and it's not letting me. I haven't been on here in a few weeks. I have been traveling some and been busy with the family. I got the opportunity to go to the LFS and get frags and do my water changes and all of the normal business. I got a Jedi Mindtrick Monti that I think is awesome(the pictures don't do it justice. I pulled my Chalice from the rock and replaced it with the new monti. The Chalice was too aggressive for the size of my tank. The sweeper tentacles are about 5 inches long and they have taken a toll on my Rainbow Monti as well as a few nearby zoas. It was bleached anyway. I also picked up a little green Acro and and mounted the Sunset Monti and the green Staghorn. I also picked up my first Acan yesterday. I took several pics today, so, here they are: Today's FTS: http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/FTS11082.jpg.html'> New Setosa on the front rock: http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/setosa_macro.jpg.html'> New Acan: http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/acan_4.jpg.html'> http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/acan_2.jpg.html'> http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/acan_1.jpg.html'> http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/acan9823.jpg.html'> http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/acan_macro2032342.jpg.html'> http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/acan_macro_22.jpg.html'> http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/acan_macro1.jpg.html'> Little Acro: http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/mili1.jpg.html'> http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/mili_macro.jpg.html'> Mini Blastos: http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/mini_blasto_macro.jpg.html'> http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/mini_blasto_macro2323.jpg.html'> A few Macro Shots: Rasta http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/rasta_macro123123.jpg.html'> Unknown Zoa http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/macro_zoasaasdfasdf.jpg.html'> Ricordae Florida http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/ric_macro.jpg.html'> Watermelons http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/watermelons_macro_34.jpg.html'> Sopranos(growing like crazy) http://s1177.photobucket.com/user/wmaldridge/media/soprano_macro_not-close.jpg.html'> My SPS are still doing really good.
