jinx
Yes, and asap. Shoot me paypal address. Unfortunately, I won't have time to make one until late next week.. My schedule is a mess and I have a bunch of stuff to do on my project car. Link to comment
cichlidtx
Nice idea on the skimmer and the tank is awesome. Where did you get the air stone from and what size air pump are you using? I think I need to give this a try. Your other project looks nice as well, how much boost? Link to comment
Kirk_M
What did you use for your bulkheads/overflow/return? Link to comment
jinx
Nice idea on the skimmer and the tank is awesome. Where did you get the air stone from and what size air pump are you using? I think I need to give this a try. Your other project looks nice as well, how much boost? It's one of the two inch coralife's that I cut down to fit. Not sure what brand the air pump is, no id on it and I've had it for a very long time, its ooooold. This is the fourth car, that I've put this motor in, and the third turbo setup in the past 10 years. This one is a station wagon btw.. Right now it'll only run 21psi, I need to install a better map sensor in my MegaSquirt. 35R ?! Precision 5431E CEA Billet, 50trim/67trim. Good for near 500hp. What did you use for your bulkheads/overflow/return? Pieced together with stuff in the 1/2-3/4 sprinkler section at HD. Gaskets for the bulkhead, I cut myself from neoprene rubber. The overflow is just a piece from my HOB skimmer that I wasn't using. Link to comment
pismo_reefer
Mmmm..... *Spool Drool* I wish I had a turbo.... 402cui, Big Block Chevy, 10.25:1, 375hp, Headers, HEI, Taylor Pro wires... Link to comment

jinx
:x Kinda having issues with the 75g that I'm currently trying to resolve. Got zoa eating nudis replicating like mad.. and, I lost both of my wrasses. Once I get the 75 back in check, I'll be working on this one. Link to comment
Reefkid88
Oh nice, that's a nice set up. How much are you looking to make tuned and what not ? Is there any supporting mods ( cams, valve train, rods pistons ) ? I see aftermarket can gearssss Link to comment
jinx
The engine is a 1994 Series 2 BP-Turbo out of a Japanese AWD Mazda 323, 220whp max on the stock turbo. In stock form, they can handle 320-50whp np, 15-18psi daily driven, just depends on the tuning. Too many mods to list.. Last tuning, it made 278whp, Aiming to hit the 400whp mark once I get it back up and running in it's new body. And that's still just running 94 octane . Still need to build my ITB intake for it too. Eventually, I'm going to make an adapter plate for a evo6 trans and make this current chassis AWD. They were AWD in EURO/JAP/AUS, and even the US version is the same chassis, though the AWD option was never sold here. This chassis is a 2002 Mazda Protege5/323F, which the BP was never an option for too LOL. Lots of work..... Here's it's previous chassis 1994 Escort GT (same chassis as the 323 of those years) and previous turbo setup I was running. Link to comment
Reefkid88
Oh damn, that's nice man. So to sump it up,you've got a ass load of money and lotssss of time invested into this beast. It's going to be one hell of a machine, that's for sure, whew. Super nice build though. Reminds me of the days when I was in middle school, and I helped my uncle and all his friends swap a 1jz from a soarer into his fd rx7,which was ridiculous for its time. So many one off custom fab'd parts from Peter Ferrell in northern virginia. He was one of the only few to do it after SP Performance did it in the mid-early 90's. The car put down a little over 600 to the wheels and was stupid fast and super light. Link to comment
pismo_reefer
The power these little force-fed motors make.... Jeez. Kinda makes me wanna commit sacrilage and put one in my '70 Chevy Pickup. Get 24mpg and a boosted 500hp, on pump gas. Yes, please. Link to comment
jinx
Hell, I was getting near 31mpg on my old T3 setup, that is, if I kept my foot out of it. Not bad for a 28 year old 4cyl design. The BP was still used up until 2005, in the Miata. They are pretty bad ass little engines.. Some of the Miata guys are putting down 750-800rwhp with them.. The only real weak link with them are the gear boxes.. They can't handle shit for long, thus why I'll be ditching mine for the AWD evo 6 trans. I'm already on my 3rd trans with this motor. Reefkid88
Quick question, how did you run the airline tubing on this ? And would a airstone for freshwater tanks work, like the little blue ones ? I think I'm going to attempt to make one for a pico project I'm thinking about throwing together with some left over tank stuff. I found my diamond drill piece from dremel, hopefully that should work to cut the bottom off. Link to comment
jinx
Will be finishing this up for install soon Just been so damn busy.. Link to comment

jinx
I totally forgot about this tank !!! Can't wait to see what happens man !! It's been on the back burner for a lil bit. My car project has been taking up most of my free time. Just got my wheels back from being re powder coated few days ago. Crappy pic due to the settings required to get the almost true in person color of them. Illusion Purple Beautiful color, kind of like a coraline purple. Another view showing a bit of the color change in different lighting. Sometimes they look almost blue or black. Anyways, back on topic :x Link to comment
jinx
Forgot to mention that I started building a rio 90 based skimmer for it, instead of the shenanigans that I was doing before with the glass bottle. It works really really good. I'll post pics of it soon as I finish it up. I'm not a 100% sure it'll fit in the sump just yet. I'm going to test it out with the sump later tonight for fitment. jinx
I still need to make a cap for it. Rio 90 w/ modded impeller wheel. Link to comment
Reefkid88
That is down right awesome lol did it fit in the sump ? Link to comment
jinx
Haven't got that far yet. I did another test on it. Not even 5 mins running in some purposely made nutrient rich/dirty salt water. Water is foamy from me leaving the collector off while looking for a temp top. Found one of my sons old playdoh lids! Fits enough to test it LOL Link to comment
