jmt
Hey awesome. I would reccomend bumping the salinty up to at least 1.025 since you have a working auto-top off. If you're ever down by Memphis, let me know and I'll give you some zoos or soemthing. -Justin Link to comment
dave_n
Thanks for the pics on the top-off. I think I'll have to build one of those myself. Link to comment
cashman
jmt - thanks for the offer. BTW, I hadn't posted my sg levels since initial setup. I checked couple days ago and it was between 1.024 and 1.025 Link to comment

cashman
Other rock close-up. Both rocks now are starting with a cyano bloom, so I am going to do a water change in the next couple of days. Link to comment
cashman
High levels of Nitrates/Nitrites spawned the cyano outbreak. The after 4 days, nitrites are down to<0.3 and nitrates are between 5 and 10. Going to use Chemi-clean to nuke the cyano. I'll try to post some before/after pics. I also dremeled my ac500 and added a 13w 6500K pc light. I've got a contact who is going to be getting me some chaetomorpha to help with nutrient export. Auto top-off has been running like a champ for two weeks now. The 4 gallon rubbermaid lasts between a week and week and a half. Salinity ~1.024 pH ~ 8.0 Alk ~ 2.5 meq/L Ca - ~450ppm Nitrites ~ 0.3 Nitrates ~ 7 Ammonia ~0.0 Link to comment
