hey
ANNNND heres a start to some of the equipment I'll be tossing on this thing soon enough. Mame overflow, yeh its 180 gph thats 3 times tank turnover an hour I am good with that I'll just make up for the rest in powerheads. Skimz 181 kone, yeh santa was generous this year So after admiring rehypes light fixture I checked it out on ebay a couple times, low and behold a brand new one minus the ballast (already had one) was up for sale at a rediculously low price. Impulse bought it on the spot. aquamedic ocean light 250w +t5's And well I hate nasty wiring jobs, this beast will take care of it all once I get everything wired up I'll decide on placement. And my project tonight, get the freakin silicone off this 20l so I can get to work on glueing in the sump baffles. More to come soon. Link to comment
Rehype
Thats really awesome glad you were able to find one for a steal...Its a great fixture Link to comment

hey
On an e-ballast i found the radium 20k bulb burns pretty white IMO sadly they don't make them for 250 de as far as I know, phoenix looks way too blue for my taste, so far I am leaning toward a 10k reeflux but that could change in 20 minutes heh. Rehype
Awww man didnt realize that...Well the iwasaki 14k may be a good option...ill tell you that bulbs tend to burn more white on electronic ballast IMO. Link to comment

On a serious note carful with that mame couple people have had them fail and flood their rooms. Their fault for not sizing their return chambers properly and or raising the mame up above its intended resting height heh. If set up right the worst that can happen is I run my return pump dry and fry it. I'm thinking I will have to keep my ato reservoir rather small for this feat aswell and just top it up every other day or so. Also I have heard that biofilm buildup in them tends to cause any issue with not starting the siphon so hopefully I can just adjust my tank cleaning habits to include getting the gunk out of it and keep it lookin sexy. hey
So a little bit of progress has been made, got a canvas for the tank backdrop as I really don't want birch trees setting the scene for my reef tank. Hung the light, drilled a couple holes in the stand to run the mames in and out tubes through without draping them over the back of the stand. Next update after this should have the sump finished as well as some wire organization. Heres how shes lookin for now. Link to comment

Ha, I fell in love with the wallpaper at a bar I was at. Went home googled birch wallpaper and it was one of the first images that came up so I tried out a wall in it. Link to comment
