The Rivendell 175G let's the journey begin...

You guy may familiar with my previous tank " Shallow Illuminated " my colorful mix tank between

soft coral and LPS that bring me so much happiness and joyful during the past 2 years.

Now I already have potential enough to start bigger project integrated from my previous one, 37G to 175G which is almost 5 time bigger. This tank I focus on keeping SPS coral as the main priority, all equipment selection is base.

 

on SPS coral requirement. So I hope everyone still give me a good support as my previous tank

I hope so man. The cost of equipment for big tank is way too much than the small one, have to go slow on this tank collect all te equipment, sometime I do miss my 37G lol

Wait until you see our yearly most grow up tank contest arrange by our club founder Mr.Chingchai. The target is too emphasize all reefer to post their tank , share tips , key to success and knowledge to other reefer in the club, that's keep our club moving forward every year. This year we got almost 30 tanks joy the race and every tanks are fully equipped with best gadget in the market such as buble king , ATI , eco lamp , tunze , vortech and every high end brand you name it. My tank is like a little puppy for this year competition . That's why I need to sneak out to my beloved and peaceful nano-reef haha.

Swing door always has problem when you use it for quite some time, rust for salt water will make it jam that's why I choose to use magnetic one.

p.s. my furry assistants do help a lot by add their fur into the tank force me to change the water more often, by the way you can say that they also help the tank cleaner. lol

Let's continuous, 48x30x24 main tank with LID crystal clear mirror at the front side and outlet overflow.

 

 

unfortunately that in my country, tank assembly is not in the same standard with Europe or USA , equipment and craftsman not good enough to build the tank with this size rimless, so the best they can do is put triangle bracing at all corners instead.

Actually gray and white pipe (electrical use) are also available which give a better looks but my furniture leg is coming in black color , so I use normal blue PVC pipe (drinking water use) which it normal blue color giving a very cheap look, so contrast with cool black leg. So chose to air brush painting it to be cool black color as same as the funiture instead.

Is the overflow noisy?

Yes if I filly turn two feed pumps up, the noise will come from 1.5 outlet pipe that suck the air but if I turn both of them down only 90% it will be ok, no noise at all. I alreay try to fix it but it will reduce the out flow of the pipe and make the level of water in the overflow box higher so I worry that if something go wrong, the water in the overflow box will flow out of the tank to the floor.

Yes we did, our club founder Mr. Chingchai won't take it easy to anyone that set up a poor tank and case casualty to livestock.

Unfortunately that they can't branch, just only can grow bigger. I would be nice if they can branching all over the rock.

Definitely, I always amaze with the color of SPS running with zeovit. I know It not so easy to run it but I also believe that it not impossible if we understand and pay attention to the tank more closely. Only basic four will apply, I'll not go for a full system.

Very cool. There are a few of us here on NR that have success with the system. Feel free to ask questions when you are setting it up. Make sure to go slow.

 

So you will be running zeolites, zeobak, zeostart3, and sponge power? I wouldn't bother buying zeofood IMO.
