Nate17
My Derasa clam has been gaping lately. I went on vacation last week and my mom took care of the tank. She did a wonderful job but the clam is definitely not doing well. Before i left it was doing great and never gaped. When I first came back it was a huge hole but it has been getting smaller Will it recover fully? I can only see a few of the fibers that would hold the input together. Link to comment
ZephNYC
The answer is in your water changing schedual. WHen clams are stressing/gaping it USUALLY means you have changed too much water and they a nutrient deprived.. Feed your fish more. Link to comment
Nate17
That's what I was thinking. I've been feeding a lot more lately and it's recovering nicely Link to comment
