I got some Space Tyree's some time ago, and they were doing great, a nice healthy colony can be seen in my previous pics. About three weeks ago they started closing up, and for the last week all are completely closed. I pulled them out and dipped them in Kent Lugols Solution per the directions. Looked at them real close with a magnifying glass, looked at what came off them in the dip. I did not see anything alarming, just a bunch of dead pods. I have checked my water, I do not have any parameters out of place. I have done my regular water changes about 5 gallons each week on the 24 gallon tank. I have not changed anything or started anything new. I took some pics so you can see these guys look bad. I have other zoo' and Palys, my big plays are doing the same thing, but I have some eagle eyes and dragon eyes that are fine. I have some red purple people eaters that are half infected, half not......

I also had a cyno outbreak about week after this started. Checked water, Po3 was a little high, I removed my Chemi Purre cause it was about 3 months old and put in new carbon an a half cup of PhosGuard. As you can see the phosphates are damn near zero no but the crap is not retreating.

 

Anyone ever heard of this?

 

Any advice/suggestions?

Its been one heck of a ride, and this tank taught me so much, with help from all of you!

So I upgraded the tank and am now running a 50 gallon cube affectionately called "Hexahedron Heaven 6.68 ft3 of love" and all of the coral from the Cardiff except the troubled Palys went into that tank. It would be great to have a following over there although I don't update it enough, I will work on that.

 

SO since my original love was the "other water" or Fresh water......i know now your ears hurt....sorry

My wife and I decided this would be a cool tank with that stuff in it. Here are a few of the start up pics. We are currently running it with no live stock just letting the water cycle and age.

I will update this if I am not over run with death threats......

Man, I just bought a Cardiff and will use your build as a reference point. Did you ever figure out what happened with those Palys? Very curious. It was sad to see the transition between that post and the next. I, too, love FW planted tanks, though. I'm thinking about going terrestrial when I'm done with my Cardiff build and keeping a planted vivarium. Gotta love the green stuff. (And it takes a little less of the other green stuff to make it happen.) Hope to see you around the forums.
