Oh my goodness this tank is gorgeous!! What ever happened to sols not being able to color up sps?? Seriously this tank is TOTM material. This thread really needs more publicity!

Wow! VEry nice tank. What are your settings on the lights for the FTS?

I took these photos around 11pm, the AI's are mostly blue at this time of night. I had to adjust the white balance on the camera to adjust the blue look. I took another set with the lights on all white here are both -

Blue - night - custom white balance

White - day - auto white balance

Do u dose this tank by hand?

yes, nothing fancy under the hood at all really. Red sea test kit and kent turbo calcium / kent super buffer. I used to have a kalk reactor and as soon as I took it off my tank started doing better.

Sweet. U just dose once at morning and once at night? Now I have proof u can have amazing sps and dose by hand. Thanks!

Honestly, I do it kind of randomly. Some days I forget, sometimes I'll go 2-3 days without dosing, then other times I do it every night. I should probably have a better schedule but you know. I do like to do it by hand though because I feel like auto dosers and nano tanks don't mix. I'm constantly amazed at how much calcium / alk an sps tank requires.

Love this tank. I think your daylight pic looks better.

thanks for you opinion on that, I was wondering which looked better. I asked my girlfriend last night and she liked the night photos so I posted more of those. I kind of like the day more because they seem to be a bit more realistic.

Dude, so sick!!! Some serious reef porn here.

haha thanks! yeah once I got the 40 breeder stabilized everything has been taking off in growth, much faster than the 29.

Man o man that looks good.

Question;

You labeled this Superman and it appears to be growing on the sandbed. I have one mounted higher up, blue with very tiny red polyps, not nearly as attractive. Do these like lower light?

Thank you! Well, it depends on what type of light you have. The reverse superman looks like it's low but it's getting blasted with light it's directly under an AI sol blue and that one has 40º optics which easily penetrate a shallow 40 breeder. I have 2 AI sol blues both running (all 3 colors) at 100% most of the day. I can put any sps low in my tank and it will do fine. I looked at one of your threads and I guess you have (unless you have changed) a 4xT5 fixture so you're probably doing the right thing by placing it high. I used to have that exact fixture but coralife and I kept all of my sps nice and high. If you have 6-8 T5 you can place it lower. I love the true superman, blue with red polyp, I want to get one of those.

Very very nicely done.

thank you, your tank is beautiful, love your scape!

here's a couple new photos, they aren't that great. I found a new home for the hippo tang, he's living in a big 200 gallon tank now, much more appropriate.
