Seen that before, it's very cool. I will just say that the guy who owns that is very....lucky. And he must not live in a very seismically active area. ;)

 

To use 1" thick glass on a tank that deep and not have any leaks or bursts is pushing the limits of how much the materials can hold. And it looks like he used angle iron to hold the glass in place. Yikes. That would of course not hold up in saltwater for long. On really big tanks the acrylic sits inside of a concrete frame such that the water pressure forces the window into place. A bead of silicone about 4" thick keeps the window from moving around and makes the join waterproof.
