AquaticEngineer
Thought I'd share some pictures of the rock I am making as the center piece for a coldwater display tank I will be supplying the livestock for at a LFS here in Oregon. The entire structure once completed will be spray foamed onto the bottom of the tank. It should stick out of the top of the tank just enough for me to plant some native salt tolerating plant species, or have standing pools of tigroprius californicus growing out. Link to comment

AquaticEngineer
Wow! Another awesome foam rock! So realistic Thanks I still gotta use the gray epoxy paint on it, but it turned out really well. I had my doubts when it was just an egg crate frame. Link to comment

AquaticEngineer
I got it all painted the other night, and this morning me and my buddy Josh got the background of the tank painted, put the rock in, got some sand in, and got water in. Link to comment

AquaticEngineer
I missed you at the store, but it looks awesome in person! Bummer we missed each other, I had to be home by 1pm today to let the prego wife get some rest. It hadn't even really cleared up by the time I had to leave so I'm pretty excited to go see it tomorrow. I'm going to take down 15-20 gallons of my cycled water from my system in exchange for some new water to help get theirs going faster. Link to comment
nor_cal_nano
You do great work man. Looks awesome in there. ...and is your buddy wanted by the Feds or something Lol. Nevermind. Guess he's just in motion. At first it looked like you intentionally blurred it. Link to comment

Thanks He may be, but I learned to not ask those questions the hard way..... j/k He was just rapidly trying to get the sea swirl connected for the return befor we left that morning so he was a blur most of the day. I actually had time today to take some livestock down to get the tank going. I have been taking 5 gallons of water from my established system down there every time I go and swapping it out for water from their system to speed up the cycling. I got a fluffy sculpin, a hermit crab that had strawberry anemones growing on its shell, and 3 good sized green anemones in there now. Temp is holding steady at 55F and they have been testing the water regularly watching for anything. It looks pretty awesome now that the water cleared up, I'll get some photos of the tank with the anemones in it next time I'm down there (either tomorrow, or thursday) Link to comment
