finch6013
Has anyone employed the use of biopellets in a cold water biotope? When I had a reef tank, biopellets worked great. Now I'm looking for info on the viability of using them for bacteria addition to our tanks. Link to comment
Uhuru
I remember reading about them not being as effective. Might try a vodka based nitrate reactor. In fact I would like to try that in place of biopellets for my tropical setup. Link to comment

IIRC from when I talked to Steve Weast about it, the amount of biopellets you'd need to be effective in a coldwater environment was astronomical. Link to comment
C-Rad
Steve Weast tried them to reduce nitrate, in a cold tank, without success. Now he uses an vodka fed nitrate reactor to reduce nitrates. Link to comment
