Seano Hermano Posted January 10, 2012 Author Share Posted January 10, 2012 Well I am looking at shades that are 5-6" in diameter (bulb is 3.5), and have open tops. So I figured heat wouldn't be a problem then. I particularly like this one, but don't know if it will fit on my pendant. If you didn't notice, I like the white. I kind of want to spray paint the tank trim white as well (to match). Krylon makes a low odor pain for indoors. Link to comment
Seano Hermano Posted January 15, 2012 Author Share Posted January 15, 2012 Here are the starts of my DIY ato. Cost to me: $15. I had some spare parts left over after I did the plumbing for my sump. Which included a 1" ball valve, a 3/4" street ell, a threaded adapter, and a 3/4" bulkhead (to be used as the refill-line in the ato container) I also had this from when I first started in the hobby and had no clue what I was doing. I ordered these 2 bulkheads ($6) (for the air and water lines) for the ato. A mag-float ($9) will hold the air valve(s) in the sump at the correct water depth. And I already had some airline tubing for drip-acclimation of fish. I will use some for the ato. Link to comment

I don't know how well the screen would hold up against the SW though. oh you mean like the CPR mini reactors have? is that what pressurizes it? Yes, I do believe that is the same material. Corals are doing great...about a 1/4" growth on all the SPS this month. Though I probably need to start dosing calcium, magnesium, alk... Yay. bioPellets. New fragrack I made... Link to comment
