wmo168
I have been fighting this for 2 years, and it spread over all my rocks, I just took out all my rocks and dip it in vinegar for a night and use a brush and scrape to manually remove all coral line and all the cracks which has these algae. I know the rock will die with stuff but I rather start out fresh. Now my rock are back in water and I bought a Mexican Turbo Snail to make sure it don't come back. The problem is these red turf algae did even grow outside my turbo snail, and hermit crab shell, coral frag I have on the sand, I have to manually take them out one by one and use a scraper to clean off their back. It seems like when ever there is coralline grew on these animals shell, the red algae always grow on top of it. My tank back wall also have a few patch which I scrape out and suck out all the lose end. I am buying the kalkwasser paste as a back up incase it start to make a come back, but I am watching closely and see if it start to grow, I will take out my rock and do the paste. I am buying a Phosphate reactor for my tank now.... Link to comment
newone2009
I used hydrogen peroxide. Some of the areas had to be treated twice but it worked fine. I do not dose the tank, I remove the rock and treat - full strength, rinse, and return to tank. http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...amp;hl=hydrogen peroxide&st=340 Link to comment
