In a 10 Gallon Nano, I think you could put whatever Clam you want giving the right lighting. At one point, I've put All 4 Clams

I have in my 10 G.

PLease check out my two tank in this site: Ma's 2.5G nano (2.5 Inch Emerald Squamosa) & Ma's 10G Clam Tank( one Crocea & one Maxima).

You could keep Squamosa & Derasa no problem, but you need to

stock a fish or two to produce some nitrate, Clams feed on nitrate.

You can't keep a Crocea, which requires Metal Halide, not just for the intensity, but also for the right spectrium. The Crocea does not use blue light like corals, so that The Actinic is not useful. You only have 36W PC as far as a Corcea concerns. I used a 70W Iwasaki 6700K Metal Halide directly sit on top of my 10G Clam Tank.

For Maxima, it's possible to live but not going to be very happy.

I've kept my 2.5 Inch Maxima under 2x55W PC for three month but didn't see any growth. After I moved him to the 70W MH tank, it immediately started to grow without even feeding. I do feed Photoplex once in a while now bit not religiously.

happy claming

I am not so sure tempture 85 degree will kill the Crocea either.

Came back from a business trip & found my 10G Clam Tank under

MH is 86 degrees!!!. It's been like that for a few days.

It didn't kill the Crocea & Maxima I had in the tank.

I added a Fun to directly blow over the MH lighting. Now the Highest T during the day is 82, lowest is 77 at night.
