Call Me a Noob, but What is This?

It has a white, bubbly stalk, and the head rolls in like a zoa. However, I have never seen the polyp type head flatten out to call it a zoa. The small arms always seem to be pointing towards the light and it doesn't retract into the rock. Any thoughts? (Pictures aren't the best, still learning with the camera, sorry)

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. The OP comes here looking for legit feedback concerning the erect phallic looking alien that has invaded his tanks back door and all you can do is make jokes?

Really?

lol, this thread delivers.

it looks like Isaurus tuberculata, commonly called snake polyps. they're related to zoanthids and the like. partially photosynthetic, but don't usually require supplemental feeding in tanks with fish.

hth.
