n0rk
Messed with the aquascape. Trying to tune it to how I like it. Might take the cap off of the left hand side, but I think this should be a nice base to have corals on. Link to comment
animalmaster6
I like it a lot. I think you should move that piece that is right below that top overhang on the last pic. Link to comment
n0rk
Might consider it. Depends what corals I get and where I put 'em more than anything. Some more 'scape stuff. Can actually see the gold coming on... I'm excited. It's dorky but I love this phase of a tank... LHS (also known as "Thick Branch City"... which is NOT the title of a porno...) RHS (also known as "Stag Alley"... which strangely also sounds like a porno...?) Left end diagonal What I get confronted with every morning when I wake up... All in all I'm pretty happy with it. Still some minor tuning to do to the LHS, but overall I think I'm satisfied with it as a platform for now. Thankful the algae cycle is starting, though I would've liked to have the ZEO cycle underway. Ordered an Aquabee 2000/1 pump earlier as a return... anybody tried these external? Trying to think of ways to save room in the sump if I can... Link to comment
animalmaster6
I like it even more Link to comment
n0rk
It's definitely growing on me. I think it's almost set. Once I get some corals I'll move bits as needs be. Right now though, I'm aiming for 6-7 colonies on the left (tight-branched colonies), and maybe 3 Staghorns on the right. Looking at getting a Tridacna maxima that's blue with white/silver markings sometime soon too, where that goes I'm yet to decide. Stocking will hopefully begin in the next 2 weeks depending on finances and when my Bubble King arrives from das Vaterlund. Link to comment
n0rk
Ordered 5 coral tonight. 4 Acros and a Stylo. A green, 2 blues, and 2 pinks... I think it should look good once it's done. Getting so close now... Link to comment
animalmaster6
When will they come in? Can't wait to see them Link to comment
n0rk
Whenever I deem the tank to be ready for them my supplier is pretty understanding and knows I can't do much until he delivers me like 200g of NSW anyway. It's been raining so collecting has been impossible. Link to comment
animalmaster6
Sounds like a great supplier. Link to comment
n0rk
He is. He used to be the president of the society I'm now secretary of so I get special treatment Link to comment

n0rk
Whoop! Nice Powermodule! Pics of le skimmer, please. (if you have them) None yet, waiting for dispatch. Screw it, some photos of the coral I've got coming: And a few others... Link to comment
Aquanist
Great specimens, if I may say! Talking about some sweet sweet acro loving! Hope you'll do (or have done) something about that heater sticking out like a sore thumb. Other than that I adore your scape! Link to comment
n0rk
Yep, heater's just a temporary thing. A friend is borrowing my Schego while we move his tank (gradually over the next maybe 6 weeks) because he's got about $20k worth of stupidly rare Hammers and Scollys... once the new sump is plumbed in the only things in the display will be an MP40 and a 6025 I couldn't pick corals like I have and then ruin it like that Link to comment
animalmaster6
Nice stuff coming in! Link to comment
n0rk
Definitely. I've got a few more on my list of things I'm hunting for... but other stuff I'm getting is a bright pink Stylo colony (not sure but the supplier mentioned green polyps), a plating Monti that's neon green with bright blue polyps, a Montipora digitata (which I've only ever heard of once in Australia), and a bright pink Acropora millepora which grows like a table (in both form and size...). Hunting another stag for the right, and another maybe 2-3 things for the left as well. Maybe a purple Montipora capricornis depending what we can find. Yes, I've a slight obsession with everything needing to be of stupidly high quality. I guess I best make the most of it while I'm paying $30 a colony instead of the $300 I will likely be paying across the Pacific... Link to comment
animalmaster6
Digis aren't common there? Link to comment
n0rk
Nah man, not at all. Insofar as I'm aware they're not even found in our waters proper aside from this patch... so it's hard to say. Either way, I'll be one of about 5 with some... Link to comment
animalmaster6
Wow, we can get them very cheap and commonly hear. One of the easiets SPS to get. Link to comment
n0rk
That's the problem with here, what we do get on the GBR we get for pretty cheap, but legally we can't get anything not found inside of our waters so we don't get stuff that's found elsewhere like Tonga or Fiji. Kinda crap, but I guess it's for a good reason. Link to comment
animalmaster6
At least we have something I bet some places can't get anything. Link to comment
n0rk
Indeed. All in all our system works out kinda well, I'd still like to be able to get cheap-ish Acro when I get there though. I'm trying to sort something out with a client to supply me at "Australian" prices... Link to comment
animalmaster6
haha that would be nice. Link to comment
