C-Rad
Oh boy here comes the Kraken!!! http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzzlog/93359?fp=1 H Those are Humboldt squid, and they are very aggressive and have attacked and killed people in Baja (where they are called "Diablo Rojo" (Red Devil)). It's very very not good that they are in California now. I listened to a lecture about them given by Scott Cassell ( ) who wears chain mail when he dives with them, and is tethered to the boat with a steel cable so they can't pull him down. They get up to 150 lbs (maybe more) and their beak can take a chunk of flesh the size of an orange out of you. Yikes. The researcher said that the arrival of Humboldt squid in California is probably a result of overfishing tuna, which used to eat a lot of baby Humboldt squid, and keep their population in check. Coral seizure http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/new...ized_at_airport Britain's Great Barrier Reef or land grab? http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010...at-barrier-reef So what do these two topics have in common?
