Prop Tank Setups

I saw that video a year or so ago. Could be one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Personally, I suspect it might have been set up. Reason being, elephants are not that fast and even an elephant moving at the speed of light would have a hard time fitting my head in its butt. I'd be bobbing and weaving like a madman. That guy didn't put up much resistance.

adin, I like that idea. Like Cosmo Kramer's apartment - levels Jerry, levels.

Actually, that was second only to the pre-wedding video of a bride holding a 2 year old and talking to the camera as the little girl too a big wet dump right down the front of her wedding dress, and had no idea.

awful

Thanks 'nerd... "Tweak"... And yet another reference from South Park!

My 10g was acquired after I stumbled onto this site while searching for mermaid porn. Up until then all I knew about reefing was from the friend mentioned earlier. So I bought a complete 90g from a fellow who was moving and tore his tank down. But I can't place it anywhere until I move into another place or build another home... Sux too... I'd love to get it set up someday.

What's your thought of picking up a cheap 55g and having it cut down to 6-8 inches deep? And you're spot on about upgrading my existing lights.

Now... Shall we begin calling you "TIM-MAY!!!"?!

Now quit playing ChopperNerd and try "TIM-MAY's!" wheelchair.

Damn, I cant find the link...

Well there was this cool custom SPS frag tank that was;

10" Deep

40" long

40" wide

That would be a great frag tank if you DIY it. there would be tons of room on the floor, and you could add a partial second shelf with more corals, just make sure that ist a See through (glass or acrylic) second shelf.

HTH :)

Phish: sounds almost exactly like the tank I was referring to. The guy had the prototype on ebay , since he re-designed it with different specs.

and by the way, Sea: it is spelled TWEEK.

And here, for your drooling libido: a two-in-one toy for you:

South Park: Vibrating Tweek Doll

Item no: 1077253

PRICE:

$24.99

You've got Timmy, you've got Cartman, you've got Mr. Hankey, now pick up the first ever Tweek plush doll...and he vibrates! Tweek has had one too many cups of coffee and he can't stop twitching. Pull the string and watch him shake violently. Put him down on the table and he will scoot across it.

AHHH....just found the thread on Reef Central for the ultimate clam/prop tank

C'mon: buck up and do the right thing: you're not married, so who's to tell you different??

clam tank

The only problem with a tank like this isn't the top off, it's all the drool that gets into the water and overworks the skimmer.

Damn! Nice clam! :::he said with a wink:::

That tank is nicely set up 'nerd. I have a hankering for a shucking knife, pitcher of ice cold imported beer and a huge side of cocktail sauce!

I'd go with Levels. Put your Monti's and softies on the Bottom and the Acros on the Top. you may even be able to do this with a 20L and get double the space. you could even use the platic egg crate. Have a bare bottom or Shallow Sand bed and have a 10 gallon filled with 30-40 lbs of LS and 20 LBS of live rock with Macros. Throw a skimmer in there (if it would fit) and That would keep your water quality top notch!

Man, If I only had the room and money!

You could do a pyramid of levels. that way the faster growing montis wouldn't crowd out the slower growing acros

Ken, the only reason sea can do something like this is because he isn't married. He has the additional cash because he has no wife. He has the additional room, because he has no wife. He has the additional time to set it up and take care of it, because he has no life.

No nookie in the Fish room for Sea. No wife =Woo hoo (edited for content)

As much as we complain about them, (edited for content) Sure you'd be able to get all the reef goodies you'd want, but that's all you'd have.

Sometimes it may sound good, but realistically it would suck. (though I would have a 72 bowfront right now)

The Pyramid of levels sounds great, but it depends on how much DIY sea wants to do.

sea lives alone in the wilderness. he's constantly doing it himself.

jah, please don't talk about how great it is to have a wife. one wife gets wind of it and the rest of us will be stuck listening to how jahkaya is appreciative, why can't you be?

Yeah well the g/f is making the move over and let me tell you we are having some differences! And after having a wife for 16 years... Singledom is like seeing the sun again for the first time. If you d00d's have a good one then I'm happy for you... If not... Life will suck tremendously. The past 6 months have brought a divorce to one friend due to his wife screwing at the workplace. A breakup and a reported sexual abuse to Family Service from another guys wife against him. She then fled with the daughter and is being sought by the police right now for filing false reports and childnapping. And then this week a third has filed papers for divorce.

There are bad ones and good ones and I hope you all have good ones. 'cuz divorce in general sucks.

I saw Brian's setups @ Atlantis Aquatics before he shut it down about a year or so ago. He had 40 long tanks (48x12) with a pair of 400w Iwasakis over each. Probably somewhere to the tune of 18 tanks or so (talk about heat in this place). And his tanks were set up with eggcrate stairs going from fron to back. Nice, as they allowed vertical growth without much interference.

I had told Steve about this: The guy broke his foot, couldn;t get down to the basement to seervice the tanks, and without telling anyone what was going on in the tanks, suddenly called a bunch of people to come over & clear things out, he's getting out. Haitr algae had taken over some 500 or so frags and countless mother colonies of 5-6th generation captive raised coral. A total shame.
