ddr_phish
Some people keep them because they say the won't become invasive and are pretty, others say they will take over a tank and multiply like crazy. Your call, safety says remove it... Link to comment
JerseyChick
I know I am a "nooblet" but it looks kinda like a black sun polyp that is shriveled up... But if everyone says its bad, welp they all know more than me so go with them. Link to comment
willyboy
I'm pretty sure it's a miniature cup coral. It's all shriveled up and you can see the hard skeleton. Touch it and you should be able to feel it. look at coral: cup here Link to comment
nate_j
willyboy, you are correct... it is a cup coral Link to comment
willyboy
Am I the only one who misses Diane helping everyone out in the ID forum. She knows her stuff. Link to comment
ddr_phish
I'm sorry but thats not a cup coral, its some sort of anemone like previously stated. Link to comment
Diatome
Looks like a Cup Coral (probably a brown cup - Paracyathus stearnsi). As for anemone, M would probably be Mojano and that is not a Mojano. Way too many people just guessing and saying kill things these days. QT it and watch it grow and then decide, if your worried. Link to comment
KMitch
thats not a cup coral. sorry to rain on the parade. Told you I couldn't spell Mojano lol.....cup corals dont have tenticles Link to comment
arwndsh
Based on the tenticles (which some hitchhiker types of "cup coral" have, probably not the type you are thinking of Kmitch) I would lean more towards either leptastrea or a baby plate growing sites. Leptastrea thread: http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=165176 Baby plate site pics/thread: http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...8&hl=fungia *Edited to add pic Link to comment
