I want to build a stand for my 75 out of 1x4's to be as light as possible..

Look at my latest build. I built this stand in two pieces and screwed them together once I got it upstairs and in place. Then I put the plywood on top and screwed it down. I covered it but it could easily be torn down to move by myself again.

Hell no.

I would never use a wave box. Those things are tank busters meant for very large tanks.

I have heard stories of them ripping panes out at thew seems over time.

Unless the tank is built for it. Some are, most arn't. Yeah. Just a friendly concern.

 

I still suggest you weight test it prior to filling it in your living room.

Its been filled and set up for almost 2 months now.

It holds absolutely fine. Not even a whimper.

 

Folks just get it in their heads that every thing has to be 9 inches thick and welded.

Its all in the design.
