Kyle_Gates
I have not done this and don't plan on it. Soaking anything in bleach then introducing it back into my $2000+ aquarium seems like a risk I am not willing to take. The cost of Purigen vs losing everything....... Ive got a 14g Biocube and have had the Purigen for three months now. Introducing bleach to something then putting it back in my tank freaked me out too but I big fat did it anyway. -Purigen becomes dark brown and I pull it out -I submerge it in a tupperware comtainer full o bleach (and stir and mash it around some) -Let it sit for 24 hrs then rinse the holy hell out of it (in tap water..for like 10-15 minutes) -Pop it back in a contaner with regular distilled water and a lil Dechlorinator (Let it sit for 30 mins) -Then put it in an empty tupperware aaaaand....sit it outsie in the sun for about 4-5hrs. -When done, its back to having its original odd scent and I pop it back into chamber 2 My own little way of doing it but....so far I have yet to have any problems at least. (I have LR, Fish and clean crew but no Coral) Link to comment
