I would like to know how the RC person identified the family, but I suppose he/she does know his/her stuff. According to the link I posted earlier, Nereids are diverse and some spp may not be as desirable as others...but again, if your tank has not had any problems, you likely don't have one of the problematic species. (In case it successfully reproduces, I mean.)
