well, he was where the frogspawn was, but was unhappy, as you told me........and the flow is significantly higher down there.... if hes happy there cant i just leave him?

I am not 100% sure how Derasas do on the rock work. Research it a bit. It may be fine, especially if all of your high flow is down there.

well, the pic wasnt at peak lighting....so maybe opened up more but im at work, wont know for sure til sunday, when im off.......

i did search a bit, theres been people who have kept derasas on the rockwork but they say up until theyre about 5-6 inches cuz apparently their gland filaments arent as strong as other clam species.

thing is, hes happy there cuz theres not as much flow blasting in his face....even the frogspawn looks happy but isnt nearly half as open as when he was up on top.........its the biocube itself, its so damn small lol....

he does have a solid hold, i see it sometimes at night with my spotlight, so hes not going anywhere... ill let this play out, its the best spot for him to sit evenly...

What do you do that keeps you away for 3 days?

I'm sure the clam is still acclimating and/or just pissed off about something....with time it will open up fully.

yes and no, hes cool, and fun, but pain in my ass, always rips food out of the NEMs mouth if he doesnt stay busy with his own.... Always annoys or irritates the SPS or the Clam....ALWAYS..... i dunno how long hell stay in.

He is fun to watch though!

Thanks dude, the rocks i got from my LFS were already cured and good to go, so i had a really shot fast cycle...the clowns helped speed it up, then once my params were good, through a few in as you knew for the hell of it (cheap softies) and i knew it was all good! but once the SOL arrived, it was game on...

Alot of the SPS came from trade ins from softies i had, like the huge Open brain i traded for 2 frags, the huge 8-10 polyp ricordea cluster, i got 2 frags + discount on 3rd....so thats what really filled it up lol

Reeferboy, I wouldn't recommend getting a cleaner shrimp.....just like mine I had before, it would try to kill/eat my fish rather than clean it!!!! It gets aggressive too, even when you feed it alot, it still gets aggressive, good thing I got rid of it, mine wasn't even big...

Amazing looking BC14. Love the light setup and am looking forward to see this tank evolve into a masterpiece. Wish my almost 3 year old tank was this nice but I am working slowly. Funds and time limit how much I can put into my BC14.

Yea I wish I had LED's over my tank but don't think I can afford that right now. Looking to upgrade the tank next year when I graduate and I gotta start researching now.
