jokercykoe
Looks great to me. I'm still waiting on some close-up filters to come in from ebay (damn shipping from china). As of right now I'm shooting similar setup to yours minus the tubes and some reach. (t1i with tamron 17-50 f/2.8). I've never seen these penny macro tubes, I'll have to look into those. I like that shot of the sexy. Link to comment

I like the 17-50 and I heard they are coming out with a VC version but I'm not sure I want all that overlap having a 28-75 already. I think my next lens will be a Canon 100 macro or a Sigma 105 macro. Link to comment
jokercykoe
Yup a dedicated macro lens would be sweet, Especially in this hobby. Link to comment
asting
I rock the $3 extension tubes. You really need an older lens or one you can control aperture with to take advantage of the tubes. I run an old 55mm macro manual focus manual meter, so the only difference with the tubes vs. normally using the lens is the focusing distance. Link to comment

nosser
Ok so I picked up a few corals during Reef-A-Palooza which is an annual event promoted by the Southern California Marine Aquarium Society. I am asking for your help since I'm not really sure about all the special names and worth. I picked up these acans with 5 heads... Is this common so $5 a head? and I also have these with 4 heads. Are these $5 per head? I paid $18 for them. You can see the ric I got too. ok these really shows the noob-ness but my wife wanted me to take the cap off the base and I broke it into 3 pieces! You can see the original with the base in the back. Will it still be ok? Here is the zoas and I'm probably most confused on these. It there a proper name and what should these be priced at? I charged them as $1pp but I will change it if I'm wrong. Unfortunately they weren't fully open when I took the pic. and last was the cloves.. and a FTS thanks in advance for all the help. 1337TANKHAX
Looking good! Those white and green flowering ones are pipe organs though, not cloves. I like them way better than cloves though, they're way less invasive. I may need to snag a frag from you! Link to comment

nosser
Alright well it's been a little while since I have done an update since I was away on business for a few days. I have decided I am going to rid myself of my sexy shrimp! They have caught nipping at my acans! If anyone is interested let me know! I have feed them frozen and dry food but they don't always eat it. I think they were already full from my corals! Link to comment
nosser
I haven't really had time to make any updates on the tank but I have some crazy macro growth!! Initially I thought my cheato was going through the pump and into the display but I think it's growing in the display. Also some other algae is growing on the rocks as well. here are some photos and my FTS. Since I was in a rush to make the deadline I will be updating with some better photos.. Link to comment
nosser
Now that I have some time... I made some changes to my tank I have been removing some pieces since I made an order with our sponsor Lucid Propagations and needed to sell some stuff off to make some room in the tank. The sexies are going as well since everytime I want to take a photo they walk all over my zoa's and ruin the shot! Link to comment
nosser
Alright I did receive a big order from Lucid Propagations and everything looks awesome. I had to remove a lot of things from the tank though but it was worth it. I took some random shots so here they are. Link to comment
spanko
I would remove the coral from the plugs and put them directly on the rockwork, would make for a more natural look. Or at least get a good heavy duty pair of snips and trim the plugs down. Just my opinion. Link to comment

nosser
wow time flies and my wife is due any minute! I rearranged the tank and removed a piece of live rock. It probably still has 6lb of LR in there. I still want to remove or cut away most of the plugs but I just haven't had muct time with the baby on the way. I took some shots and I will add more as I have time! Thanks for looking! most of the zoa's are on the floor now. You can see my little fishy guy in red in the very right top corner. my nukes my leather some zoas and my Monday FTS: Link to comment
