Nano Box strives to be the most advanced, fully-featured, budget friendly LED fixture on the market. We are proud to announce that each Mini Tide, DUO, QUAD, and HYBRID will come standard with the new Bluefish Mini wireless controller. Now easily control your favorite Nano Box using the Bluefish iOS or Andriod app!

Nano Box and Bluefish have come to an agreement to integrate the new Bluefish Mini in the Nano Box Reef line. Once the controllers arrive we will be switching over completely. I will offer the Storm controllers for people without a smart phone/tablet. The RETRO line will still come standard with the Storm controller however there will be an upgrade to the Bluefish Mini. It is looking like the switch will 100% take place second week of April!

Any ideas as to how the bluefish mini going to be mounted? Is it going to have a box for itself like the storm controller or would it be mounted into the fixture itself?

I'm super excited about this! Nano Box lights have been the obvious choice for style and light quality for some time now. With Bluefish WiFi control standard, I think this will be a smash hit...unparalleled by even the biggest brand name lights out now or on the horizon. Obviously my highly biased opinion, but I think it's accurate!

If you don't know much about Bluefish control:

Built-in Wi-Fi connection means you are up and running in a snap. No messing with long runs of ethernet cable or finicky Wi-Fi gateways. The cloud connection means your device is instantly accessible from anywhere, with no router configuration necessary.

location-simulation.png
Bluefish makes it easy to replicate the lighting conditions of any location, using actual weather data in real time! Just choose a city, and optionally use the current weather conditions (clouds, storms, etc), sunrise/sunset times (dynamic photo-period), and moon phase! Powered by Wunderground.com

weather-simulation.png
Bluefish simulates unique cloud cover patterns using the current weather conditions from your simulated location. Unique weather conditions include clear, partly cloudy, mostly cloudy, scattered clouds, rain, haze, overcast, and thunderstorm.

webcam-views.png
Integrate the video feed from webcams directly into the app! Check up on your tank, make changes remotely, or just have fun showing off….start a thunderstorm and watch the action from anywhere!

storms.png
Start a thunderstorm from the app and lighting strikes are synchronized with audio from a real thunderstorm. Connect your phone or tablet wireless to a Bluetooth speaker for maximum effect!

easy-setup.png
Wi-Fi configuration is extremely quick and easy. Select your network, enter the password, then hold the screen of your mobile device to the sensor on top of the Bluefish device. Your mobile device sends the configuration by flashing the screen (think Morse code). In about 10 seconds, your Bluefish controller is online and accessible from anywhere. Absolutely no router configuration necessary! Programming your light schedule and customizing your channels is a snap.

encrypted.png
Bluefish was created with your security in mind. End-to-end SSL encryption protects your data from prying eyes, and your settings are stored securely in the cloud.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is it necessary to have my Apple/Android device connected at all times in order for the controller to run properly?

A. No, the app is required to change settings only. It is not necessary to be connected through the app for the controller to function.

Q. Can I use the app on multiple devices?

A. Yes. Your Bluefish controller settings are associated with your user account. You can log in from any Android/Apple device with your username and password.

I've been trying to talk myself out of one of these little beauties for quite a while... but this might just push me over the brink. :D

Will upcoming features for Bluefish be available with Bluefish Mini such as the power bar and such?

Are older customers going to be able to upgrade? What will the cost be?

I was wondering the same thing. I just got mine this week. Terrible timing I guess.

Working on this. For now I will still have it on its own AC plug for simple on/off.

So this controller also turns the t5's on and off aswell on the hybrid

You can buy a simple Android tablet for $40 these days. ;)

Now make it work with Windows Phone! ;)

Yes sir. Finishing the final design.

Will the mini include some kind of a case?

Yep, simple upgrade.

Yeah, what he said.

Not in the works. This is for the lighting only.

Just do it. :D

Well shoot... I wasn't sure if I wanted one of these... now i HAVE to have one

Yep! 99.95. For the case I will have a firm price very soon.

Again, just do it!

No price change for the mini despite having bluefish? You're crazy Dave!

This is fantastic, but I'm assuming that orders already placed won't make the cut in time for this? Thanks!

Case for now. I am testing signals with it in a new extended driver case.

My one question....

If there is no wifi router at my work, can I use my phone as a wifi hotspot to change and save settings on the bluefish, or is it necessary to have wifi 24/7?

It needs Wifi to make changes and to download settings. If it loses power for any reason for more than ~10 seconds, it will not have output until it is connected again and can download settings.

You do need a dedicated WIFI spot. However the wifi hotspot will work as this is what I use at shows.

No worries at all, was mainly asking out of curiosity. ....And my perpetual indecision regarding a saltwater tank (aka what size, and where to put it in the living room!)

Is it possible to do a mini with a white gooseneck and how much extra on the bill?

Sorry, probably not the right place to ask but didn't want to fire up another thread.

Thanks!
