IMO, I would find some other place much nicer to place your acrylic tank. I think If you move your tank now, you could save some trouble later on in the future. There is a list of things I could mention about having a tank right next to the bed, but I will save it.

I would really like to hear what you have to say about having the tank next to the bed...

I have the aquarium at the foot of my queen bed in case that changes things. The only problems that I could think of were:

1.) the metal halide blinding me if I tried to take a nap in the middle of the day. (which I rarely do)

2.) the noise (but I tested the system out, just a little trickling noise, which I actually kinda like).

3.) water splashes (although the acrylic tank already has a very large lip on top, I plan to minimize any potential splashes with the acrylic panel I have on the tank)

4.) hard to change my bed covers (I already tried changing them. It doesnt really get in the way)

what am I missing? I would really like to know. I normally and preferably would not have the aquarium next to my bed but that's the only open wall space I have in my room. If there are some serious drawbacks to having it next to my bed, please let me know. If it is serious enough, I'll definitely consider moving it into my family's living room, though I really rather have it in my room.

Thanks
