your fuge area might have too much water movement because your bubble defeater baffle should have been the same height as your return area baffle. Having them at the same height would force the water to move over the surface of the fuge area. Instead, your higher bubble baffles will create a waterfall that will create a current in the fuge area.

that did cross my mind. I was probably going to remove the one baffle and re-cut it shorter or cut slots in it.
