Peace To All.

We're back with a new pic and video on YouTube.

Maritza is doing GREAT!!!

Brandon gave Us a great idea with the Ceramic Magnets for Frags.

It's a great idea for us since we're constantly fragging and trying out new SPS.

They get better flow on the glass.

Our GARF Purple Bonsai Acropora is doing FANTASTIC!!

It has maintained it's rich Purple color and in fact

it has really turned super rich Purple.

We've also blocked off 4 of the white diodes on this bulb with Velcro.

We did it to keep the Bonsai Purple and it's worked out for all the other colors.

It's harder to photograph and video tape but that's fine.

Corals are happy and so are We.

Here's our new video on Our Channel.

Please enjoy and any questions or comments are welcomed.

Thanks Brandon for the idea. It's really working out for Us.

Blessings All

Maritza looks fantastic as always, thank you for sharing. I love Mari too.

Are you doing anything to compensate for the loss of light from blocking four of the white diodes, e.g. repositioning the lamp closer to the vase? I have my ABI par38 suspended 12" above my reefbowl at present. All corals seem quite happy, but I wonder if it's maintaining the proper color range for the corals and I sometimes would like to see more blue (or less white) light.

Peace. Thanks for having a look and comments. We greatly appreciate your Love for Maritza The Vase Reef. The bulb is hung 12" above the water line currently. I've blocked off the 4 Whites to prevent bleaching to the GARF Purple Bonsai Acropora, Pachyseris Unchained, and to get more coloration from all the colorful Zoanthids. It's worked out great!

We're not compensating the White Light lost because in all truths, the White diodes LED's are strong and more than what we think. They wash out the Blues quickly, and add too much of the other Spectrum found in the White Diodes, like Yellow, Red, Orange, etc.

We are currently using a raitio of 3 to 1, Blues to Whites. It is difficult to photograph without the proper filters and camera, but with less Reds, Yellows, Orange, etc..contained in the White Diodes LEDs, this current layout is more favorable for what I'm trying to accomplish and keep.

We are blocking the Diodes with White Velcro. So the light is still penetrating through the Velcro but not intense and with very little use for the Corals. So we are using 8 watts out of the 12.

The ABI bulb is a 14k spectrum and look, according to ABI. i grew many types of Corals just fine, they way it is. I only changed the Spectrum for the sake of maintaining the colors on the specified corals. You may try to block off 2 of the whites, maybe the 2 center White LED's with the Velcro, if you wish. I'm using it that way on the Fish Bowl Reef, and it's growing all the Corals and Algae with no problems, and I actually have this bulb on the Fish Bowl Reef, 20" above the water line. no problems at all. As long as the bulb is centered to your Reef.

Hope this helps. Have a look at MARI-The Fish Bowl Reef.

Many thanks for the detailed response! I'll try blocking 2 of the whites for now and see how the corals respond.

Peace. Thank You. Buy the White Velcro and cut enough to cover the bulb and the edge of the metal on the bulb to insure a secure fit. One thing is that if you ever decide to remove the Velcro, you will have sticky LED lenses. To remove the sticky glue, I used WD-40 on a paper towel, when the bulb is cool down. Hope this helps. Any questions and or comments, let Me know.

I'm on FB also and I have exclusive videos, pics,on that page. Here's the link.

Great, this is very helpful. I do have one more question. Is there a particular advantage in using white Velcro as opposed to some other adhesive covering? I have some white artist's tape that I was thinking I could use.

And thank you for the FB link :)

I'm not sure the adhesive strength on Artist Tape, when heat is applied to the adhesive. I know that Velcro has very sticky adhesive and works well under the heat from the LEDs. You can try and see. Let me know how it works. Do you have a pic of your Vase Reef or Pico?
