I just got it today. It already moved about a foot. Already my favorite thing in my tank.

Yes coco, it is called a walking dendro. It has a symbiotic relationship with a worm that lives in its skeleton and that's how it moves about.

Very cool coral!

Its part of the same family as a dendro but these are photosynthetic. The worm moves it around the sand fun to watch.

I have a walking dendro also, had it for many years they love live blood worms if you can get some for them. The black sand isn't the best for them .I used to have black sand years back when I setup my edge and the dandros base wasn't doing to great then I was told by a walkin dandro nut to switch out the sand witch I did and he still lives today. It's been years .. They grow sloooooooowly.

Is the black sand too rough? If it does not do well in it I will move it to my other tank. Growing slow is a good thing because I have it in my fluval spec v.

Something about the blacksand being abrehsive that tears up the tissue of the coral
