I do water changes every 2 to 3 months, change the white filter floss once a week, daily manual water top off and finally glass is cleaned every couple of days. This tank is very low maintenance :-)

The Banggai pair breed ALL the time. If you look closely you'll see a cup at the bank of the tank right next to the powerhead. That's where I keep the Banggai fry . This btach is about 6 weeks old and the Banggai male is already carrying eggs in his mouth.

This tank has been running for about 6 months. However, this does not mean that I am a newbie. My first tank was a 50 gallon that ran for 8 years, then I downsized to a 34 gallon Solana that ran for a year and finally this current set up.

All my systems have ran skimmerless & sumpless.

What is your method for keeping the tank low maintenance?

Any SPS in there?

How many fish?

Substrate depth?

Feeding schedule?

Please make a thread lol.

I think that there will be lots of interest in your aquarium and the methods you employ to care for it.

EDIT-

Forgot to add that I am also interested in how you are raising the Bangaii Fry (I know you are keeping them in the cup). But what food do you feed and have you successfully raised them to adulthood yet?

The only SPS in this tank is a Red Monti Cap and it's doing pretty well. In addition, there are 7 fish and the sand bed is about 1" deep. Fish get fed frozen, pellets and cyclopeeze 2 to 3 times a day.

In regards to the Banggai's fry, In the past I let the fish eat the fry so this is the first attempt to raise the banggai fry. They are fed brine shrimp couple times a day. this is such pain in the butt because I have to hatch brine shrimp every second day. I honestly don't see myself doing this long term. I am already thinking about selling the parents to somebody that has the time to do this properly.

Thanks TimberC.

BTW, I may be interested in the pair.

IDK, how shipping would work though (Canada to California).

Thanks Rehype, Metrokat, anthogro, NanoTopia and steely185. Wizzy, I don't think it's possible to ship fish from Canada to the US. Permits would be needed and that's expensive. I am sure you could buy a couple Banggais and let me pair off.

Hey Jessy-Ray, I'll post some close up shots of the Acan garden :-) they look a lot better in person. Can you believe that each frag cost me $10 :-)

How is it even possible to not do water changes for 2-3 months and maintain it so well! Amazing! I couldn't go 3 weeks before my tank looks like danger zone especially with frozen food..... Well done.

It works very well for me. I have not been doing much to this tank other tan daily fresh water top offs and feeding the fish couple times a day a mixture of frozen and pellets. Last time I did a water change is about 3 months. I blame summer for this. The weather has been awesome and I have been spending lots of time at the beach and spending as much time outside as I can.

I forced the male to spit the fry and quickly caught them with a net. One important thing is not to take the fry out of the water. They are extremely sensitive at this young age and they can die if taken out of the water.
