whut kind of lights do u use? im about to give up on ricordias because they keep fading in color and getting smaller

@ Fluffeh I have been collecting Rics for over 6 years and I personally think that they are one of easiest corals to keep happy long term. These Rics were under 2x150 HQI + 4x39 watt T5s for the longest time. I placed at the bottom and mid-level in the tank.

They are currently in my newly set up Solana under 5x24 watt Aquactinics T5 light fixture.

Well I must say it is beautiful. I heard ricordia's are hit and miss under LEDs which might be causing my problem? Everything else in my tank is growing great (zoa's, some lps) but when I look at my 2 ricordia's i am saddened by their fading away.

Are you sure they are Rics and not Yumas? I know both are from the same family but I personally find that Yumas are more delicate than Rics. Do you have pics of these "Rics" that you talk about?

They are definitely ric's as I bought them from reefgardener.net who i definitely trust. one is blue and the other two is orange. The orange ones are the ones that are fading away.

ive tried every kind of flow from high to moderate to low to ALMOST no flow. nothing happens.

i could never get my rics to grow like that

I have been collecting Rics for over 6 years and they grow really well in my tank. Right now there are about 200 Rics in my tank and there have been times when there have been about 400 of them. All of them are pretty healthy and grow pretty fast.

every time i buy ric's they last about 2 weeks then poof gone. pics like these make me want to bang my head against my desk....WHYYYYYYYY

spain, same here - they seem fine initially and then slowly fade in color and shrink and then half of the ricordia is gone ;\ someone told me it might be my LED's, but im just not sure anymore.
