Id like to separate it in to two. Its becoming too big and touching front glass. Is it possible ?

You can just cut it with scissors if you want. Just be sure to run plenty of carbon after.

did the toadstool split from the cap first and then grew a new stalk? i always wondered how these reproduced...

Leg separated in to two. But head still keeps them together. It is "U" shaped now.
