The Cube Aquarium Ecology

The main theme of the tank is a "Zoa Zen Garden" a simple clean feeling look with a mixture of SPS, LPS, Softies reef. Most corals will be mixed reef but mostly zoas/palyps

 

Photoperiod/Schedule as follows:

Maxspect G2-400-160w is on for 12 hours total. Here is how i have my Channel setting for each unit.

 

Channels

(A) Actinics: 3w Blue/Violet LEDs - ON for 12 hours

(M) Mixed: 3w White/Blue/Violet LEDs - ON for 8 hours

(W) Whites: 30w Whites LEDs - ON for 1 hours

 

TURN ON:

(A) On at 10AM, (M) On at 2PM, (W) On at 7PM

TURN OFF:

(W) off at 8PM, (M) off at 9PM, (A) off at 10PM

Lunar L.E.D.: Always on

 

Feeding Routine:

A variety of Ocean Nutrition frozen Mysis, Brine Shrimp,and Marine One Formula Pellets twice a week.

Every 2 week 5 gallon water change. For Ca, Alk, and Mg I rely on E.S.V. B-Ionic which I dose 10-15ml per day and every other day. Check on Magnesium and added 5ml weekly if needed, Strontium Chloride 1 ml each week and Potassium Iodide 1ml each week.

 

LiveStock:

My tank is filled with the usual hitchhikers: pods, snails, worms brittle, asterina stars, and feather dusters. Here is a few list of my addition corals that I have collected.

Invertebrates:

5 Margarita snails, 5 Nass snails, 1 Pom Pom crab, 1 Dersa clam

 

Fish & History:

1 Percula Picasso Clownfish Grade B. The parents of the fish are either ORA Picassos or Snowcassos that Doni Marie bred and raised. The fish was born around Feb. '11

1 Super S'more Clownfish. The parents of the fish are a TMC Premium Snowflake female and an ORA Black Ocellaris male that Johnathan (Hyperboy) bred and raised. The fish was born around early Feb. '11.

I am trying to let it grow in as little colonies on to the frag plugs because of having a barebottom. Hopefully everything grows out soon in the future and i am sure you won't be disappointed. :P Thanks!

I don't believe I've ever seen that many corals stuffed together in one place. Best thing about this is that they all look top-notch.
