Hi All,

As for the LED's They are 10W chips at 20K! I know it shows "absolutely nothing" thats the point, its that bright. Ill take some HD pic this afternoon. for the tank its a custom 20L converted into a 13L. Here is a link to you tube.. Shows the tank in action.

Mind you the system im running in the video is 60W @ 16k and the pix is of an 80W 20K so much brighter.

I have two 20 watt, 20K LEDs on the way, that's why I was wondering.

Mine are from Satisled.com. We'll see how they look. Mine will actually be used over a freshwater planted tank along with neutral whites and cool whites.

I saw the 20K LEDs for $13 each and had to give them a shot just for giggles.

Hi redfishsc,

Thanks for the web site, I buy my bulbs in bulk from Kong from a distributor. Im sure it’s the same style of chip. What driver are you running to power them? Mean Well makes a good driver, just make sure you wire up the bulbs before you hit them. they will burn out every time! Cooling is a must, the bulbs are filled with a jell. The cool thing is that if done right, they really produce no heat at all. I would suggest using a 92mm fan. You will want good cooling to your heat sink, imagine putting 20 1W lads on a surface the size of a dime, can get really hot really fast. but if you know what you are doing they are amazing. I have used 100W chips down to 10W, the light pattern they provide is a million times better than the standard 1Ws. I think you will really like what you see. Let me know how it comes out, i can also give you tips and contact info on better deals for supplies. And if you do any saltwater, you will love the 445nm. The Cree x team royal is only 450-460nm meaning the 10W is a more pure royal blue. You will get the best growth and the best color from them. Let me know if you need any info, always willing to talk tanks and LED! :)
