Worm ID?

Pretty colors, but I'm guessing it needs to be removed. The worm pictured is 4-5 inches exposed (no telling how much is in the rock). Is it a bristle worm of some sort? Should I removed it?

Definitely a bristle worm, I'd just watch and see if you have any damage before you try to remove. With one that big you'll just break it into pieces, and if I'm not mistaken those pieces don't die. I have some now that don't do anything, but i've also seen one pull the polyps out of sps.

I don't have much going on back there except for a couple of loose mushrooms and a xenia that split into three. I haven't seen my emerald crab in almost 2 months, though.

Ehehehehhe, they're so creepy.

They don't have jaws so they can only rasp at the flesh of corals if they feel they need to.
