Reef Goddess Posted June 23, 2010 I can. But not the $5 a polyp goofiness that's been offered by some low life divers lately. But they got what they paid for with that gb. Sorry ranting... lol Just a bunch of divers in the Keys lately have no idea of the meaning of sustainable collection and maintaining market value. Lots of areas just getting stripped bare by lousy collection practices. Quote Link to comment
Jacobnano Posted June 23, 2010 Wait are they really not collecting them correctly? Shame! Quote Link to comment
Gerber77 Posted June 23, 2010 I have to say that Morgan has the BEST ricordea on the market. I bought my first ric colony from here, I believe before she was a sponsor here. It was the healthiest, best piece of coral I have ever received. I have also had over 50 ricordea polyps in the past few years. She has the best hands down!! Quote Link to comment
Reef Goddess Posted June 23, 2010 Not that they are not collecting them properly per se, but I've heard from a few different people that they are just stripping whole areas and leaving nothing behind to grow back for the future. Its like if you reveal where shallow water zoos are located, someone will go and take them all even if there are tons of them and they grow fast. Its sad. Quote Link to comment
Jacobnano Posted June 23, 2010 That really is sad. People who don't understand sustainable collecting...bleh. Quote Link to comment
Reef Goddess Posted June 23, 2010 I know. That's why I try to aquaculture as much as possible, so one day I won't have to rely on wild collected corals. Quote Link to comment
Nanobuds Posted June 23, 2010 we have plenty of corals. there should be no more need of collecting wild caught ones Quote Link to comment
