Well, you do see a Synchiropus picturatus (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Synchiropus_picturatus.jpg). I wouldn't take a mandarin, in such a small tank, too hard to keep because of its feeding.

I actually have a psychodelic Mandarin in my 24 Aquapod. It eats mysis and is really healthy. However, I do agree that they often starve because it's really hard to train them to eat frozen foods.
