Dani3d Posted March 23, 2010 does not look like you have any live rock in there. How are you going to keep the mandarin alive? They require lots of copepods, unless they eat a healthy and balance diet of frozen food offered many times per day. Quote Link to comment
Psychosis Posted March 23, 2010 It is in a sea horse tank...feedings seem redundant. Quote Link to comment
Kelseymichelle Posted March 23, 2010 Well theres about 30 pounds of liverock and sand, and we have a fuge with tons of pods. Our mandarin is very healthy, and its not the first one we've ever had. Hes doing just fine thank you. How can you even say that it looks like we don't have enough liverock, I took this pic from the corner of the tank. Quote Link to comment
Dani3d Posted March 24, 2010 It's the apparence of it. I can't see any other live rock in there, not even from the reflection in the glass. It just looked that way and I have no way to know otherwise from that pic. Good to know he's got plenty of food! so many just starve to death. Quote Link to comment
Kelseymichelle Posted March 24, 2010 yeah its just the bad angle, but he has plenty of rock. I've also found him eating the seahorse shrimp! Its great b/c he cleans up after them. They are really messy fish lol. Fist one I've ever had that will eat frozen. Also since my seahorses are tankbreed they eat frozen aswell. Didn't believe the guy at the LPS, but after seeing it myself I'm amazed! Quote Link to comment
Dani3d Posted March 25, 2010 wow, that's really cool that your seahorses eat frozen food. I think mandarin will eat frozen food more than people imagine. My green mandarin (my first one) is also eating frozen food. I went to a local store and the man there had many mandarins and they all eated frozen food. I was amazed since some pet stores can't get them to eat anything. The difference was a mandarin dedicated tank and live rock. most other store put mandarin in empty tank with other fish. Kelseymichelle Posted March 25, 2010 Yeah I find people and LPS make that mistake allot. Your see like a clown fish a tang and a mandarin in the same tank, and they wonder how they die? lol Quote Link to comment
Kelseymichelle Posted March 26, 2010 What are you talking about? Yeah I have also seen this type of fish before on NR, but are you saying someone stole my pic? Have you seen this pic before on NR? Quote Link to comment
