timdanger Posted March 17, 2010 "2" refers to the number of pictures i had of it. to be clear, this is not the original tyree lime in the sky. just an awesome looking acro. i don't know why ATL named it the same thing as another coral they sell. seems weird. but, i'm more interested in looks than lineage. timdanger Posted March 17, 2010 ATL's website says they use 20k radium 400w halides overdriven on Hamilton or PFO HQI ballasts. so, that's pretty intense lighting. i'm thinking it's more the color temperature of the bulb than the wattage that makes the colors pop. that, and the proper nutrient environment. Nemo Niblets Posted March 17, 2010 Awesome. No coral looks bad under radiums with the right ballast... Quote Link to comment
timdanger Posted March 17, 2010 if this doesn't look good under my 150w 14k halide, i think i might have to invest in a new ballast... Quote Link to comment
stoniereefer Posted March 17, 2010 my 150 de 14k phoenix looks fairly close to the radium 20k IMO, but if u have a ushio (true 14,000*k) it will look brown. at least thats how my corals looked under them even w/ t5 actinics. Quote Link to comment
