looks healthy AND bleached at the same time... was it always this color?

Yes, I have had it since early Jan. and it has always been that color. I think it is healthy because it has six new heads that have started since I put it in my tank.

its definately healthy, but its also definately bleached out.

What should I do?

lower light area

i have a piece that has looked like that for the past 2 years, grows fine, just very bland looking.

put it in indirect light and it will color up alot better undertinics. i had some regular red ones that now have a yellow pattern from being shaded under the blue part of my tank

So I should place it closer to the sand to have a lower light area? I have a pc light system and the acan seemed to be fatter and happier where it is now. You are saying that it will be more colorful closer to the sand?
