Fluoroscopic Effect on Bleached Trach.

This picture highlights what I'm calling "The Fluoroscopic Observation of Zoozanthellae in Bleached Coral"

Pictured: The darker areas of red and bright green are easily visible to the naked eye under 6500k and 10000k standard Power Compact (and Sprial Compact) fluorescent lighting. The pale pink and green areas are either very faint or appear totally white under 6500k to 10000k lighting.

With LED lighting in the Royal Blue spectrum grouping, the fluorescence of the zoozanthellae moving into these bleached regions is more visible, providing a more accurate picture of the recovery of such specimens.

heh, not a thesis, but I'm trying to get a body of documentation together for this - It may prove to be useful in propagation and husbandry. I've also talked to a marine biologist who was extremely interested in this and inquired if the LED tech could be made compact enough for a dive light :D
