TheUnfocusedOne Posted December 8, 2009 if it lives in brackish my guess is itll die in salt... Quote Link to comment
octoman Posted December 8, 2009 cool I've had one for a couple years now and it hasn't died. its pretty much reef safe. Quote Link to comment
TheNordCelt Posted December 8, 2009 Totally reef safe, its less aggressive than my clowns. You just have to slowly acclimate them to the higher salinity, just like molly's or something. Its definitely my favorite fish. Quote Link to comment
RyanR1212 Posted December 8, 2009 OMG THAT THINGS AWESOME... when it gets bigger.. feed it some effed up shiit!! its soo cool Quote Link to comment
pismo_reefer Posted December 8, 2009 my lfs has a few in 1.026 Sg...... theyre doin very well.... they WILL however start takin pieces out of EVERYTHING meaty..... and will devour ALL crustaceans... (their wild diet) so have fun w/ your "totally reef-safe" fish... ive owned a few puffers in my time. beautiful animals, but that beak is a killer... Quote Link to comment
HeyLookItsCaps Posted December 8, 2009 they're euryhaline. cutest fish ever. if i had a fish only tank i would buy one. Quote Link to comment
TheNordCelt Posted December 8, 2009 I've had it for 2 years and it eats the occasional snail, but those reproduce like crazy in my tank so its not a problem. So yes, I WILL enjoy my REEF safe fish. Quote Link to comment
ryeguy28 Posted December 9, 2009 besides the fact that its a green spot puffer cool i have 1 of these guys that is in full fw right now Quote Link to comment
TheNordCelt Posted December 9, 2009 Yes, also known as a GSP, or leopard spotted puffer, leopard puffer, green puffer, green spotted puffer, or spotted puffer. They are brackish fish as juveniles, but they need full SW as adults to stay healthy. Quote Link to comment
ShadowLab Posted December 10, 2009 What is the Sg of the tank you're keeping him in? Do you have him in full SW already? Quote Link to comment
ryeguy28 Posted December 10, 2009 im in the process of going brackish with mine lol Quote Link to comment
DoubleD Posted December 10, 2009 Visions of nipped fins and corals come to my mind. Perfect cookie cutter "beak" shapes. Quote Link to comment
octoman Posted December 11, 2009 Mine is PERFECTLY reef safe. doesn't pick on anything. AT ALL, so unless you've kept one then keep your mouth shut. please Quote Link to comment
CosmicAquatics Posted December 12, 2009 I almost always put one or two of these in reefs. I love the way they are always watching you and hovering around the tank. I have never had problems with them in a reef at all. Every one that I have ever had has been named Stanley. Quote Link to comment
