New Filter

I followed the directions on making a refugium in an HOB filter. I made some changes, though. Since my tank is really small, I bought the AquaClear 20. I found this LED light (3 white LEDs) that's waterproof and push activated (uses batteries). It works REALLY well! I attached it to the inside of the filter cover (adhesive included) and my chaeto is alive and doing well so far. I'm glad I found this light because it was going to be a nuisance trying to fit another light behind this tank...

(I found this online, but when I went to Home Depot in the LED section...there it was! Hooray for no shipping!)

Sorry for the uber late reply. I haven't been on here for a while. It's called a Sylvania DOT-IT H20. Unfortunately, it doesn't last too long; it runs on batteries. I stopped turning it on/off after a while and my chaeto is doing fine without it.

It was an interesting idea, but turned out to be a poor use of my $12. It's just sitting there now! haha

I saw someone use a submersible halogen light for their refugium...that would probably be the better way to go.
