After a couple of months trying to make this thing work and all the research and goof ups ive been through this setup is what I ended up with.

The system has been running now for 1 month with this setup and all parameters look fine.

Hope I can get more ideas and what people think about this setup.

you just really overcomplicated the shit out of keeping a reef.

why not just have a normal sump w/skimmer section and fuge... this will accomplish everything you have set up there...

make a small compartment for chem filtration, where you can put a bag of carbon, chemi-pure, purigen, gfo whatever floats your boat...

bam. no need for all this mess you got with your excessive "nitrate reducers" and pumps... simple skim/fuge sump is completely effective... if you really need more filtration make a chemical compartment in the sump like i said or hook up a media reactor...

honestly the skimmer, fuge, sand bed, and LR do 98% of the work, 80% of that being sand and rock!
